Is It Too Late to Start Dance Classes This Year?

If you've spent this year watching your little one twirl around the lounge room — or your teen quietly wishing they'd signed up in January — here's some good news: it's absolutely not too late. At KICO Dance Studios in Bargo, we welcome brand-new dancers every term, and mid-year is one of our favourite times to meet a new face at the door. So if you've been wondering whether it's too late to start kids dance classes in Bargo this year, take a breath — the answer is a great big no.

Can my child start dance mid-year?

One hundred percent. Families start dancing mid-year with us all the time, and our teachers are pros at making a new dancer feel like they've been part of the group forever. Our classes are built so beginners can slot straight in and move at their own pace. Whether your child is two or twelve or seventeen, there's a spot here with their name on it.

What does your child's first class feel like?

Your child doesn't need to know a single step, and comfy clothes are perfect to start. From the moment they arrive, a friendly teacher is right there beside them. Some dive straight in, others like to watch for a few minutes first — there's no wrong way to start. More often than not, the ones who were nervous at the door are the ones we're gently coaxing off the floor at the end, grinning ear to ear.

As one of the friendliest spots for beginner dance classes in Bargo, we welcome new dancers from right across the region — including Tahmoor, Picton, Wilton and the wider Wollondilly.

Why is mid-year a great time to start dancing?

Starting mid-year can be even easier than January. Our classes are settled and humming, so your child walks into a warm, established group — and the term builds toward the magic of concert season. Because everyone's always learning something new, your beginner won't feel 'behind' for a second. It's also a low-pressure way to fall in love with dance before committing to a full year. (Spoiler: they usually do.)
